Summary

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon on the Game Boy lets you step into Usagi Tsukino’s shoes before she becomes the moon‑lit heroine. I wander through familiar spots like the city streets, school corridors, and even a health spa, chatting with the right NPCs to trigger the magical transformation. Once in Sailor Moon form the game shifts into a classic beat‑’em‑up arena where I rely on a simple kick attack, but the real charm lies in the quirky "cry" mechanic – pressing down makes her sit and wail, shattering nearby rocks to reveal power‑ups. These items grant temporary Moon Tiara Action, brief invincibility, and other boosts that spice up the otherwise straightforward combat. The boss roster reads like a Sailor Moon fan‑fic: Morga, Kyurene, Jadeite (who appears twice per stage) and the final showdown with Queen Beryl, each demanding a mix of timing and the occasional well‑placed tear.

Storyline

Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon for the Game Boy adapts the early anime by pulling its plot from the first, third, and fourth episodes of season one. The game follows Usagi as she navigates the same key events that introduced the Sailor Moon universe on television. Although Ami and Rei have not yet appeared in those episodes, the handheld version lets players meet and talk to them as non‑player characters, adding a unique twist to the original storyline.
