Battleship on the Game Boy takes the classic board‑game formula and layers on a surprising amount of tactical depth. Across eight progressively tougher levels, each split into five distinct battles, I have to sink the computer’s fleet before it does the same to me, and the tally of 40 victories is the only way to clear the title. What sets this version apart is the addition of military aircraft and support weapons that give both sides extra firepower, and a fresh weapon appears at the start of every new level, keeping the strategy from getting stale. After each win the system hands me a password, letting me pick up right where I left off—a handy feature for handheld gaming. Some scenarios even pick up from a previous encounter, turning a bleak defeat into a chance for redemption.
