Summary

Atomic Punk offers a surprisingly deep set of four gameplay modes that keep the classic bomb‑dropping fun fresh. In the solo "Game A" (called "Bomber Boy" in Japan) you collect GP by racing through levels and destroying blocks, then spend it on panels—power‑ups that carry over between stages. The progression isn’t just linear; a world map with nine distinct locations lets you pick which panels to equip before each round, adding a light strategic layer.

The second solo option, "Game B" (known as "Bomber Man" overseas), mirrors the original formula but swaps the rectangular arena for a square one and locks the camera on Bomberman, so the screen never scrolls as you reach the edge. This subtle shift changes how you plan your routes and bomb placements.

Multiplayer splits into Panel Mode and Powerful Mode. Panel Mode starts you with a single bomb and a one‑unit blast, while panels like Bomb Up and Fire Up appear to boost you. Powerful Mode hands out four bombs and a four‑unit blast right away, but strips away any panels, turning the match into a pure test of timing and placement.
