Summary

Aerostar drops you into a bleak, post‑war Earth where a lone fighter‑jet slices through ruined highways, cramped jungles, and even outer‑space corridors. You can’t just fly anywhere – the craft sticks to preset routes, and you lose your primary guns whenever you dive or climb into alternate lanes, which forces you to plan each move carefully.

The game rewards aggressive play with a suite of upgrades: homing missiles, charge‑up lasers and temporary shields, all discoverable as bright icons amid the scrolling backdrop. Every stage ends with a massive boss that demands pattern memorisation, and the three difficulty settings keep the challenge fresh for beginners and veterans alike. Despite its modest handheld canvas, Aerostar packs striking visuals—from spike‑filled futuristic streets to sweeping coastal sceneries—that still feel lively on the Game Boy’s grayscale screen.

Storyline

After the Sixth World War, humanity left Earth a barren, hostile planet. The Intergalactic Council declared the world safe again and began a program to repopulate it.

But mutant societies had flourished in the ruined wastelands and refused to surrender their new domains. To protect the fragile reconstruction, the Council dispatched a lone starfighter, the Aerostar, tasked with stopping a second wave of total devastation.
