Play Adventure Island Online

Summary

Adventure Island on the Game Boy is a quirky footnote in retro gaming history. Although the box bears the simple English title, the cartridge is actually a portable version of Adventure Island II, not the original platformer most fans recall. This lineage traces back even further: the whole series began as a licensed adaptation of Sega’s Wonder Boy, swapping the original’s arcade roots for a more whimsical island adventure. The result is a compact, side‑scrolling experience that feels both familiar and distinct, offering handheld players a taste of the sequel’s expanded mechanics while preserving the charm that made the Wonder Boy connection so memorable.
