Summary

Xena: Warrior Princess on the Game Boy Color delivers a fast‑scrolling, side‑scroll platform adventure that feels right at home with the TV series. I spend most of my time guiding Xena from an overhead view, running, jumping, climbing and even swimming through sixteen pulse‑pounding stages. The game rewards exploration: thirteen different items—ranging from quirky maple syrup to essential keys—can be hoarded in an inventory, with two equipped at once, while heart containers boost my health bar. A neat twist is the infrared link; pairing my cartridge with a friend’s (or even the Hercules: The Legendary Journeys version) unlocks secret levels that aren’t reachable in solo play. All of this packs a surprisingly deep hack‑and‑slash experience into the tiny GBC screen, making each run feel both nostalgic and fresh.

Storyline

In the Game Boy Color title Xena – Warrior Princess, the heroine finds herself trapped inside a surreal dream realm called Psychosia. To break free, she must first locate the mysterious entity Darphus, who is responsible for imprisoning her in this illusion.

Once Darphus is confronted, Xena’s next task is to seek out Morpheus, the only being with the power to return her to the real world. The game’s plot revolves around this quest to escape the dream and restore reality.
