Summary

The Game Boy Color version of Worms Armageddon is essentially a trimmed‑down take on the classic turn‑based artillery brawler that began life as the Wormageddon expansion for Worms 2. While the handheld cartridge preserves the series’ signature cartoonish humor, destructible 2‑D terrain and the chaotic mix of real‑world and out‑landish weapons, it drops many of the PC’s bells and whistles – fewer weapons, no voice clips and tiny, hard‑to‑spot worms. Reviewers noted the quirky graphics and praised how the terrain‑physics survived the downgrade, even if the front‑end felt “thrown together” and the soundscape was notably sparse. Despite these compromises, the core gameplay loop – moving a worm, picking a weapon, and hoping the blast lands just right – remains intact, delivering the same strategic fun that made the original a hit. In short, the GBC port is an abridged edition that sacrifices polish for portability, but it still offers enough of the Worms charm to keep a handheld session entertaining.
