Summary

Turok: Rage Wars brings the Turok universe to the Game Boy Color with a fresh top‑down perspective that lets you move and jump in eight directions. The game is split into four sprawling worlds, each packed with multiple levels that sometimes scroll automatically, demanding quick reflexes and strategic weapon upgrades. You can combine and upgrade a varied arsenal, though some reviewers noted the balance can feel off at times. A password system saves your progress, which is handy given the game’s relatively short length—most players can finish it in a few hours. Developed by the Spanish studio Bit Managers, the title showcases Alberto José González’s energetic soundtrack and colorful, detailed sprites that earned praise from Nintendo Power. Critics generally liked the variety of environments—from snowfields to jungles—and the freedom of movement, even if diagonal controls felt a bit finicky. Overall, Turok: Rage Wars stands out as a solid, action‑packed handheld experience that improves on its predecessors.

Storyline

In Turok: Rage Wars for the Game Boy Color, Turok battles to stop the invasion of Earth by two alien species—the Dinosoids and the Bionosaurs. These creatures slip through dimensional portals that open across the planet, threatening humanity. Turok must close the portals and defeat the hordes before they can establish a foothold. The game’s plot centers on his relentless pursuit of the portals and the alien forces behind them.
