Summary

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil (often just called Turok 2) translates the console shooter into a tight, eight‑stage side‑scrolling adventure on the Game Boy Color. You’ll juggle a pistol, shotgun, grenade launcher and even a bow‑and‑arrow, while occasional sections let you swoop on a Pterodactylus or paddle a canoe past hostile fauna. A simple password system saves progress, and four distinct boss fights punctuate the journey.

The levels were first sketched on graph paper before being rebuilt in a custom editor and baked onto the handheld hardware, a process that gives the game a surprisingly crisp feel for its era. Alberto José González, who scored the original handheld Turok, returned to compose a colorful soundtrack that lifts the monochrome‑compatible title.

Critics were split: IGN gave it a middling 5/10, noting cookie‑cutter design but solid controls, while Nintendo Power praised the move set yet lamented the limited palette. European magazines were kinder, with Nintendo Acción awarding 92/100 for its length, tight animation and dynamic gameplay, even as others warned that precise jumps could frustrate less patient players.

Storyline

In Turok 2: Seeds of Evil for the Game Boy Color, the story follows protagonist Joshua Fireseed as he battles the Amaranthine Accordance villains. Their goal is to unleash a massive Dinosoid army from the Lost World onto Earth, and Fireseed races to stop them.
