Summary

Super Chinese Fighter EX is a quirky detour for the long‑running Super Chinese franchise, landing on the Game Boy Color as a pure‑fighting experience. While the series is best known for its side‑scrolling action and RPG roots, this 1999 title drops the usual mechanics and lets you pit the cast against each other in a traditional one‑on‑one arena.

The roster pulls straight from the series’ colorful lineup, headlined by the iconic duo Jack and Ryu, and sprinkles in a handful of familiar faces for fans to discover. Each character retains their signature moves, but the handheld format forces the combat to feel tight and instantly accessible.

Because it caps off the Fighter sub‑series, Fighter EX feels like a nostalgic farewell, offering a compact yet satisfying glimpse of what the Super Chinese world could sound like when stripped down to pure button‑mashing. It’s a neat little gem for anyone who enjoys retro fighting games on a portable screen.
