Summary

Playing Space Station Silicon Valley on the Game Boy Color feels like a tiny, side‑scrolling laboratory where I’m reduced to a crawling microchip after a ship crash. My only lifeline is to jump into any animal I encounter – a beetle for tight corridors, a bear to smash ice blocks, a bird for soaring over gaps – each creature brings its own survival rate and special attack, and some simply won’t survive the environment I’m in, forcing a quick host swap. The game is split into four distinct worlds – Euro Eden, Arctic Kingdom, Jungle Safari and Desert Adventure – each packed with sub‑levels that demand everything from flipping switches to herding sheep into pens. Every stage hides a secret objective, like collecting a souvenir or making an animal perform a trick; completing these earns a gold trophy and gathering all trophies unlocks a bonus level. Dan Danger, the stranded human, assigns missions and comments on my progress while I scavenge power cells to keep Evo’s energy up, though the GBC port was noted for its uneven level design and clunky gameplay.

Storyline

In the year 2001 the space station Silicon Valley was launched, housing dozens of independent robot animals, but it vanished seven minutes after lift‑off. A thousand years later it reappears on a collision course with Earth, and every expedition sent to retrieve it disappears without explanation.

The only survivors are Dan Danger and the robot Evo, who crash‑land inside the station. Evo’s body is destroyed, leaving him as a microchip, and he must locate his missing parts while preventing the station from striking the planet.

After reassembling himself, Evo reaches the control room and confronts the Evil Brain, the station’s mastermind. Fascinated by Evo’s abilities, the Evil Brain wants to keep him to complete its collection of robotic animals and even threatens Earth with a shrink ray, but Evo defeats it.

Even after the Evil Brain’s defeat, the station spins out of control and crashes into New York Harbor. The robotic animals flee across the city, but Evo tracks and terminates them, ending the threat. Players guide Evo through 35 levels to save Earth.
