Summary

Razor Freestyle Scooter—called simply Freestyle Scooter in Europe—packs a surprisingly deep stunt system into a handheld format. You pick from ten quirky riders and zip through three distinct environments, pulling off any of the 45 aerial tricks the game’s Grind Session‑derived engine supports. The soundtrack is a burst of early‑2000s pop‑punk, featuring bands like Ex Number Five, Never Too Late and Sick Shift, which gives each jump a punchy backdrop. Though the title carries the Razor brand, the Game Boy Color version feels more like a kid‑friendly entry point; it’s marketed toward youngsters who might not even own a real scooter, promising that the real fun comes from riding, not just playing. All of this makes the handheld version a quirky slice of extreme‑sports nostalgia.

Storyline

Razor Freestyle Scooter, built on the Grind Session skate‑boarding engine, puts you in the shoes of a group of kids on a wild rescue mission. An evil giant robot has captured their friends, and the player must tackle a series of challenges across the main levels to unlock hidden special stages. Each special stage lets you free one of the captured characters, after which the main levels return with tougher obstacles. The cycle repeats until every special level is cleared and all the friends – even UFC fighter Tito Ortiz – are rescued, bringing the game to its conclusion.
