Summary

I first stumbled upon Rugrats: Time Travelers while digging through my collection of Game Boy Color cartridges, and it instantly stood out as the system’s only exclusive Rugrats title. Developed by Software Creations and published by THQ, the game drops you into a whimsical toy‑store time machine that launches the babies into more than ten eras to explore.

Each of the twelve stages hands you a different Rugrat, tasking you with quirky missions like tracking down a missing toy, rescuing the other infants, or hunting mysterious artifacts before the clock runs out. The platforming feels tight, and the variety of characters keeps the challenges fresh as you scramble to round up the whole gang.

What’s cool is that the game resurfaced in 2026 as part of the Rugrats: Retro Rewind Collection, giving a new generation a chance to experience this nostalgic time‑hopping adventure on modern hardware.

Storyline

Rugrats: Voyage dans le Temps (known in English as Rugrats: Time Travel) drops you into a chaotic time‑travel adventure. After stumbling upon a mysterious time machine, the babies are flung across history, leaving Chuckie alone in the Toy Palace level as the first playable character. Determined to reunite his friends, Chuckie jumps into the machine and finds himself in an 1800s gold‑mine, while the others are scattered: Tommy ends up in ancient Egypt, Angelica is stuck at a circus, Phil and Lil wander the prehistoric age, and Dil drifts into outer space.

Each rescued baby becomes a new playable hero, opening levels set in the Wild West, a sunken Atlantis, a medieval castle, a fairytale realm, a pirate island, and even a circus arena. The game’s structure lets you hop from one era to the next, collecting the gang and restoring the timeline.

By the end, all five Rugrats are back together, ready to face the final challenge and return home.
