Summary

Pokémon Jade is a bootleg hack that repurposes the Game Boy Color engine of the Speed Version, itself a clone of the Keitai Denjū Telefang pair. It’s one half of a duo of unofficial titles that masquerade as a Pokémon release, borrowing the familiar “Diamond/Jade” naming convention for extra flair. The most striking oddity lies in its packaging: the box art showcases a creature that never appears in the game, an altered take on the forest spirit Shishigami from the anime Princess Mononoke. Various print runs even mimic the back covers of legitimate Pokémon games, stuffing them with fabricated screenshots and photos of the nonexistent Pokémon. In short, Jade is less about gameplay and more a curiosity of fan‑made marketing, blending Telefang roots with a faux‑Pokémon veneer.
