Play Nicktoons Racing Online

Summary

Nicktoons Racing on the Game Boy Color feels like a pocket‑sized kart showdown that pulls the most recognizable 1990s Nicktoons onto a single screen. The handheld version trims the roster to seven fan‑favorites—Tommy, SpongeBob SquarePants, Eliza, the Angry Beavers, CatDog, Arnold and a mystery seventh—each zipping around tracks that echo their original shows, from a Rugrats playground to an Arnold‑the‑Jedi‑style course. Power‑up presents litter the laps, offering weapons, obstacles and speed‑boost orbs, while hidden shortcuts reward daring navigation, especially on higher difficulties where the AI will hunt them down too. You can unlock Medium and Hard modes only after mastering the Easy cups, and the game scales the AI’s shortcut usage accordingly. Although the GBC edition drops the split‑screen multiplayer found on console versions, the single‑player experience still captures the chaotic, cartoon‑crazed racing spirit that made the original a nostalgic favorite.

Storyline

In Nicktoons Racing for the Game Boy Color, a handful of Nickelodeon heroes each receive a mysterious letter inviting them to a Grand Prix where the prize is the Krusty Krab Big Bun Award. The competition is hosted by an unseen driver known only as the Mystery Rider, who pilots a sleek black car with a tinted dome and challenges the racers to beat both him and each other. After the announcer introduces the contestants, the Mystery Rider and the Nicktoons speed off to start the first race.

When the player finally wins the last Cup, the victorious Nicktoon is awarded a year’s supply of Krabby Patties strapped to their go‑kart. The Mystery Rider then arrives in his cart and is revealed to be Plankton, who staged the whole series of races to steal the secret Krabby Patty formula. The champion rides off into the sunset with their bounty as the credits roll.
