Summary

Batman: Chaos in Gotham lets you slip into the cowl of either Batman or Batgirl on the Game Boy Color, and the experience feels surprisingly deep for a handheld. The game’s 18 stages zip you through Gotham’s rooftops, alleys and even the Batmobile’s cockpit, mixing classic side‑scrolling beat‑em‑up action with occasional top‑down chase sequences that make the Batcycle feel like a mini‑racing game. Both heroes come equipped with the usual arsenal – Batarangs, grappling hooks, smoke bombs – and each tool feels purposeful, whether you’re pulling enemies off a ledge or clearing a path through a swarm of thugs. The level design keeps the pace brisk, rewarding quick reflexes and a bit of puzzle‑solving, which makes the title a standout among Game Boy Color action games.

Storyline

In "New Batman Adventures: Chaos in Gotham" Batman faces a massive breakout at Arkham Asylum. The escape releases a roster of villains: Mr. Freeze, the Joker, Harley Quinn, Roxy Rocket, Poison Ivy and Bane. While rounding them up, Batman discovers that Two‑Face orchestrated the whole thing and must stop the mastermind before Gotham falls into chaos. The game pits the Dark Knight against these iconic foes as they wreak havoc across the city.
Each villain presents a unique challenge, forcing Batman to use his gadgets and detective skills. The storyline drives the player to capture each escaped inmate and restore order. Ultimately, Batman aims to bring the criminals back to Arkham and thwart Two‑Face’s plan.
