Play NBA Show Time: NBA on NBC Online

Summary

NBA Showtime: NBA on NBC lets you dive into fast‑paced two‑on‑two basketball with a roster that spans all 29 NBA clubs and more than a hundred real players. You can hone your moves in Practice mode, then grind through a Season or jump straight into the Playoffs, and the game rewards hot streaks – three straight buckets set a player "on fire" and light up the scoreboard with a blazing effect. Over thirty slam‑dunk animations keep the action fresh, so every dunk feels like a new spectacle.

The handheld version captures the arcade’s wild vibe, even though it trades the 3‑D polygonal graphics for the Game Boy Color’s pixel art. While the console and arcade releases flaunted authentic uniforms and NBC’s iconic "Roundball Rock" theme, the portable port was judged harshly by reviewers, earning an "unfavorable" consensus on GameRankings. Still, the core formula – pick any two starters from a team, pull off flashy dunks, and watch the fire meter flare – remains intact, delivering the same over‑the‑top excitement that made the arcade a hit.

For anyone who loves a no‑rules, high‑energy basketball experience, NBA Showtime on the Game Boy Color still offers a nostalgic rush, even if the graphics and sound don’t quite match the original’s polish.
