Summary

Monsters, Inc. for the Game Boy Color drops you straight into the neon‑lit streets of Monstropolis. The North‑American release arrived on October 26, 2001, right before the holiday rush.

You hop between side‑scrolling levels as Sulley or Mike, tasked with reassembling Boo’s mysterious door. Each fragment hides in quirky rooms, encouraging quick jumps and puzzle solving.

A relentless Child Detection Agency patrols the shadows, and any contact forces a rapid retreat to the safety of the scaring closet.

The game’s bright palettes and tight controls make it one of the few handheld titles that truly captures the film’s mischievous spirit.

Storyline

In the Game Boy Color version of Monsters, Inc., Boo accidentally finds herself back in Monstropolis after escaping the human world. Sulley spots her just in time, racing against the CDA and the scheming Randall to keep her safe. The player joins Sulley and Mike as they scramble through the bustling city, solving simple puzzles and navigating platforming sections. Their main goal is to locate the hidden door that will return Boo to her own home without alerting the authorities. Each level brings new obstacles, but the frantic chase keeps the adventure lively and true to the movie’s charm.
