Summary

Godzilla The Series: Monster Wars drops you into a frantic 10‑level quest where the king of monsters must stop alien‑crafted mutants from overrunning Earth. The stages zip through deserts, crumbling cities and even underwater tunnels, all rendered with the Game Boy Color’s free‑scrolling engine that lets you steer Godzilla wherever the action calls. A revamped cross‑hair system gives the lizard pinpoint aim, letting you chain fireball, tail whip, bite, claw, stomp and flame breath into virtually endless combos.
Sixteen distinct enemy designs test those combo possibilities, from hulking mechs to swarming mutant beasts. Each encounter rewards you with new attack links, encouraging experimentation to melt through tougher foes. The fast pace and strategic mix of moves keep the gameplay feeling fresh despite the handheld’s modest hardware.

Storyline

In Godzilla The Series: Monster Wars, the action kicks off in Nigeria where Randy Hernandez and Monique Dupre join Godzilla to stop the mutant El Gusano Gigante, a plant‑eating beast linked to chemical‑weapon production. After the battle, Dr. Elsie Chapman uncovers the creature’s strange diet while H.E.A.T. monitors the chaos.

The next crisis erupts in New York as a garbage‑eating microbe runs amok. H.E.A.T. boards the Heat‑Seeker, and Godzilla battles through the city, confronting the Nanotech Creature and the P.E.M.C. forces before Timmonds praises the team’s effort. Meanwhile, Dr. Chapman detects tachyon pulses in New Jersey, prompting a dive into the Pacific where Godzilla fends off submarines, giant cephalopods, and a sonic‑vocalizing Cryptocledius that has been signaling distress for 55 million years.

The final showdown unfolds at Site Omega. After skirmishes with giant rats, a Giant Bat, and more cephalopods, Godzilla faces Cyber Godzilla—an undead cyborg built from his mother’s corpse. He defeats the cyber‑monster’s missile barrage, causing the alien invaders to retreat. Anthony Hicks offers Nick a research post, but he refuses to keep guarding the still‑unknown mutations.
