Summary

Déjà Vu I & II: The Casebooks of Ace Harding packs two full‑blown mysteries into a single Game Boy Color cartridge. I step into the shoes of Ace Harding, a private eye who wakes up with no memory and a murder charge hanging over his head, forcing me to stalk Chicago’s shadowy backstreets for a cure and the real killer. After the first case unravels, the story drifts into Deja Vu II, where I find myself in the grimy town of Last Vegas, tangled with a notorious mob boss who offers a deal that’s hard to refuse.

The game lets me issue detailed commands to talk to anyone, examine objects, or manipulate the environment, and I can hop back to any of the 140 locations—including the crime scene—whenever I need a fresh look. With over 80 items to collect and sort between genuine clues and red herrings, the puzzle‑solving feels rewarding. A battery‑backed save lets me keep up to three separate playthroughs, so I never have to worry about losing progress.
