Summary

Buzz Lightyear of Star Command on the Game Boy Color packs a frantic top‑down dash across twelve colorful alien worlds. I spend each run chasing the level’s villain while blasting enemies, gathering coins for upgrades, and calling in Booster’s stomp to clear crowds. The game lets you buy hoverboards, jet bikes and even a jet pack, plus shortcuts like teleporters and boost pads that keep the pace intense. If I beat the rival to the finish, Mira shows up for a quick assist before the final showdown with Emperor Zurg. Medals unlock later stages, earned by grabbing Little Green Men and hitting the cash targets. After a win, the level can be replayed either by hunting XR robot parts or racing against the clock, each offering its own medal rewards. The top‑down view, simple controls and vehicle variety make this handheld version a surprisingly deep slice of the Toy Story universe.

Storyline

Buzz Lightyear of Star Command for the Game Boy Color puts you in the Space Ranger’s boots as you race a villain through each stage. When you reach a certain point you can call Booster, whose ground‑stomp wipes out nearby foes, and if you beat the antagonist to the finish line Mira appears briefly to siphon some of the enemy’s health. The level ends with a one‑on‑one showdown, and the ultimate confrontation is against the Evil Emperor Zurg. Progress is gated by medals; you earn them by gathering scattered Little Green Men and collecting enough credits to meet the level’s quota. Only with enough medals can you unlock later missions and finally bring Zurg’s plans to a halt.
