Summary

Bugs Bunny: Crazy Castle 3 turned a 1997 Game Boy Kid Klown title into a colorful Game Boy Color adventure starring the Looney Tunes cast. Nintendo’s polish gave the familiar 2‑D platform puzzler a richer palette that lets each cartoon foil—Sylvester, Daffy, Tweety, Taz and others—feel locked to a specific part of the castle.

The castle is split into the Garden, Hall, Basement and Treasury, housing a total of 61 rooms. Each stage requires you to snag eight hidden keys before the door opens, while a handful of weapons sit in your inventory for quick enemy clean‑up.

Lola Bunny replaces Honey Bunny as the damsel Bugs is trying to rescue, adding a nice nod to the series’ shifting love interests. A password system lets you resume later, though writing down the alphanumeric codes can feel old‑school on a handheld.

Critics appreciated the visual boost—IGN noted the color depth gives the series new life, even if the core design stays simple. AllGame rated it 4.5/5 while other outlets called it solid, easy‑to‑pick‑up fun, noting the lack of major innovation.

Storyline

Bugs Bunny: Crazy Castle 3 kicks off when Bugs discovers an old book in an antiques shop called “The Treasure of the Old Castle.” The cryptic note promises glory to whoever finds the hidden treasure inside the mysterious Old Castle, but its exact location is never revealed. Witch Hazel intervenes, casting a spell that brainwashes the rest of the Looney Tunes cast into becoming obstacles for Bugs. Throughout the castle you run into brain‑washed Daffy Duck, Tweety, Elmer Fudd, Foghorn Leghorn, Marc Antony, Pepé Le Pew, Rocky, Sylvester, Wile E. Coyote, and Yosemite Sam, each trying to halt your progress. The final showdown pits Bugs against Taz, who stands guard over the chest that actually contains Lola Bunny, the true prize of the adventure.
