Play Barbie - Chasse au Tresor Sous-Marine Online

Summary

When Mattel Media rolled out its first adventure starring Barbie, they called it Adventures with Barbie: Ocean Discovery, though the Game Boy Color cartridge simply reads Barbie: Ocean Discovery. The handheld version was handed to Realtime Associates in 1999, following Gorilla Systems’ Windows original, and it marked the start of a small wave of girl‑focused titles from the toy giant.

In the portable game you guide Barbie through colorful underwater scenes, swapping puzzles for clues as you hunt a sunken treasure. The dolphin that flits alongside her on the PC version takes a back seat here, keeping the focus squarely on navigation and item collection.

Critics were split: Entertainment Weekly dismissed it as underwhelming, while The New York Times praised the subtle nod to Barbie’s marine‑biology degree. Academic commentary noted the title’s move away from the “true pink fluff” of earlier releases, and French outlet PVG24 reported solid market traction. A clever Coca‑Cola holiday promo even slipped a $5 coupon for the game into its Santa Packs, boosting visibility among young players.
