Summary

Ultimate Beach Soccer, known as Pro Beach Soccer in Europe, landed on the Game Boy Advance alongside PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC. The game drops you onto a tiny sand pitch where each side fields five players and you can swap them in and out without limit. You can pick from four sun‑kissed venues – Bangkok, Rio de Janeiro, Marseille and Venice Beach – each of which can be played at dusk or under floodlights.

A roster of 32 national squads includes a few surprise names like Eric Cantona, Julio Salinas and Daniele Massaro, all rendered after motion‑capture sessions with Spanish beach‑football pros Ramiro Amarelle and Robert Valero Mato. PAM Development built the title with guidance from Beach Soccer Worldwide, making it their second foray into football games after Ronaldo V‑Football.

Critics were split: The Guardian gave it a modest three‑stars, calling it a simple, bite‑size diversion that lacks the nuance of big‑budget soccer sims, while Xbox Nation slammed the animation as stiff and the controls as barely responsive, docking it a low three‑out‑of‑ten.
