Summary

Trollz: Hair Affair! is one of those oddball handheld titles that pops up when you dig through the GBA catalog. Developed by the little‑known Powerhead Games and backed by Ubisoft, it landed in 2005, right in the middle of the console’s golden era. The game’s aesthetic leans heavily into bright, cartoon‑ish visuals that feel like a cross between a Saturday morning cartoon and a teen‑magazine makeover spread. I’m always fascinated by how the developers tried to blend a “hair‑styling” gimmick with the typical platform mechanics of the time, creating a surprisingly playful mix of style and action. Even though it never became a household name, the title stands out as a quirky reminder of how experimental the handheld market could be.
