Summary
The Game Boy Advance version of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow dropped in late March 2004, hitting Europe on the 26th and North America the next day. Critics were split: Metacritic settled on a 68/100, while outlets ranged from a modest 4.67/10 at Electronic Gaming Monthly to a solid 8/10 from Game Informer, painting a picture of mixed or average reception.
Gameplay stays true to the original stealth formula but adds a handful of quirks that feel fresh on a handheld. Health kits disappear from the inventory, a laser sight on Sam’s pistol shows exactly where bullets will land, and Sam can now pry open doors while lugging a body. The title even lets you fire upside‑down, pull off a silent SWAT turn past doorways, and execute a half‑split jump, all wrapped in modest graphical upgrades that give the side‑scroll a sharper look.
Storyline
In March 2006 the United States establishes a military presence in newly‑independent East Timor, prompting the anti‑separatist militia Darah Dan Doa, led by former CIA‑trained soldier Suhadi Sadono, to strike the U.S. embassy in Dili. Third Echelon’s director Irving Lambert tasks Sam Fisher with rescuing hostages, including his old friend Douglas Shetland, and uncovers Sadono’s partnership with a shadowy figure known as “Mortified Penguin.”
Fisher follows the trail to Paris, where mercenaries break into a cryogenic lab and steal ND133 containers that hold human brains and, later, smallpox‑laden bioweapons. The rogue CIA operative Norman Soth, now working with Syrian terrorists, plans to use the virus as insurance for Sadono – codenamed “Pandora Tomorrow” – so that any capture or death of the militia leader triggers a deadly outbreak on U.S. soil. By bugging Sadono’s daily check‑in calls, Fisher helps Third Echelon locate and neutralize all but one ND133, allowing U.S. forces to push back against the guerrillas.
The final showdown takes Fisher to Los Angeles International Airport, where Soth intends to detonate the remaining ND133. Disguised as a maintenance worker, Fisher eliminates Soth’s team, secures the device, and triggers a controlled explosion by the LAPD bomb squad, averting catastrophe. The conflict ends with Sadono captured and diplomatic ties between the U.S. and East Timor strengthened. This is the storyline of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow (Chameleon) on the Game Boy Advance.
