Summary
The Game Boy Advance version of Simpsons: Road Rage hit North America on July 3 2003, courtesy of Altron and THQ. I was immediately drawn to its Crazy Taxi‑style dash – pick up Springfield citizens, crank the throttle, and earn a quick tip before the timer runs out. As you zip around, you’ll dodge Burns’ massive nuclear transit buses, errant drivers, and the occasional ram from the man himself. Collecting enough cash unlocks twelve quirky drivers, five new starting hubs, and a secret cutscene that shuts down Burns’ transit empire once a million dollars is tallied.
The ten‑mission “Missions” chain adds set‑piece goals like shielding Krusty from angry fans or slipping Homer into work unnoticed, rewarding you with Homer’s own car for the main road‑rage mode. Two‑player link lets friends race for the same fares, while season‑based dates reveal holiday‑themed rides such as Christmas‑Apu and New‑Year’s‑Krusty.
Storyline
In The Simpsons: Road Rage for the Game Boy Advance, Mr. Burns has taken control of every transit line in Springfield, outfitting his buses with a radioactive hazard. The townspeople can’t rely on public transport any longer, so they turn to their own vehicles to navigate the city. Players pick characters like Homer, Marge, or Bart and drive around to complete missions while racking up cash. The core objective is to earn enough money to pay off the debt caused by Burns’s reckless venture.
As earnings increase, the player can unlock new locations, characters, and special challenges across the map. When the cumulative total reaches one million dollars and every location is unlocked, the game triggers a final cutscene that shows the shutdown of the radioactive bus fleet and the restoration of normal life in Springfield. This victory ends Mr. Burns’s monopoly and restores safety to the town.
