Summary

Playing The Scorpion King: Sword of Osiris on the Game Boy Advance feels like stepping back into the sequel of the movie. WayForward Technologies delivered a tight side‑scroll platformer where I control the Scorpion King across sun‑burnt Egyptian ruins, chasing the legendary sword of Osiris. The sword isn’t just a collectible; it’s the key to unleashing a power that can halt the sinister warlord Menthu, whose legion threatens to raze the kingdom. Universal Interactive handled publishing, preserving the film’s atmosphere while the GBA hardware lets me swing, jump, and slash through traps and hidden chambers. The game stitches the movie’s mythic vibe into handheld form, offering a brisk, combat‑heavy adventure for any fan of retro action.

Storyline

The Scorpion King: Sword of Osiris picks up right after the events of the original film. Wizard Menthu and witch Isis abduct Mathayus’ sorceress bride, Cassandra, hoping to harness her magic to awaken the Dunes of Natash and unleash a thousand‑year desert storm on Egypt. To stop them, Mathayus must locate the world’s most powerful blade, the Sword of Osiris, and retrieve the Hero’s Gauntlet. After slaying Menthu, the hero confronts Isis, who wields the Scorpion Stone and transforms into a half‑scorpion monster for the final showdown. If the player fails to gather all six runes, Isis escapes with the Scorpion Stone after Menthu’s defeat. An alternate scenario flips the script: Mathayus is captured, and Cassandra becomes the one who fights to rescue him.
