Summary

The King of Fighters EX2: Howling Blood lands on the Game Boy Advance as the follow‑up to the original EX, pulling its fighting DNA straight from the KOF 2000 roster while carving its own niche. It continues the EX line’s “what‑if” universe, where the infamous NESTS saga never unfolded because Kyo Kusanagi was rescued by Moe Habana instead of the secret organization at the close of KOF ’97. This alternate timeline lets the series explore fresh match‑ups and moves without the shadow of the NESTS plot.

A quirky footnote is its N‑Gage incarnation, released under the name The King of Fighters Extreme, proving the title’s flexibility across handhelds. Fans of the series appreciate how EX2 stitches together familiar characters with a divergent storyline, offering a compact yet deep fighting experience on a portable screen.
