Summary
The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy on the Game Boy Advance turns the cartoon’s chaotic humor into a side‑scrolling beat ’em up with a dash of platforming. You guide Billy, Mandy, or Grim through 2D stages where enemies pop up at set points, and each knockout fills a Mojo Meter that, when full, grants a brief invincibility burst that lets you vaporize foes on contact. Weapons occasionally drop, adding a tasty shortcut to clearing the hordes.
Story Mode is split into three short campaigns: Billy’s showdown with General Skarr in Endsville, Mandy’s chase after Jack in a pumpkin‑filled field, and Grim’s battle against Nergal down in the Underworld. Only Billy’s route starts unlocked; the other two open up as you finish each story and collect Mojo Balls. A separate Mission Mode offers quirky challenges that also reward Mojo Balls, and gathering all 54 unlocks a hidden concept‑art gallery.
The game rewards repetition with its simple yet satisfying combat loop, and the Mojo‑ball system gives a clear incentive to explore every scenario and see each character’s quirky ending.
Storyline
In The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy for the Game Boy Advance, a mysterious intruder cracks open Grim’s trunk, unleashing his Mojo Balls—dark magic orbs that infect anyone who touches them with uncontrollable rage. The chaos spreads through Endsville, forcing Billy, Mandy, Grim, and Irwin to chase a trail of chicken feathers across several familiar series locations while hunting down the rogue Mojo Balls and battling the enraged townsfolk. Their quest culminates back at Billy’s house, where they retrieve the final Mojo fragment from a brain‑eating meteor that crashes in his backyard. It’s then revealed that Billy himself opened the trunk, hoping to free “Moe and Joe,” and a failsafe curse caused him to sprout feathers as a breadcrumb trail. Angry at Billy’s blunder, Mandy even breaks the fourth wall, and the game lets players control her to pummel Billy throughout the credit sequence.
