Summary

The Game Boy Advance version of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines plays as an isometric shooter packed with ten single‑player levels. Each level is divided into rooms that demand specific tasks—defend a point, survive waves, or reach an objective—keeping the pacing brisk. I’m impressed by how the Terminator can switch between a range of projectile weapons, toss explosives, and even land a solid punch when ammo runs dry, giving the combat a satisfying variety.

A neat touch is the limited‑time red‑tinted Terminator vision, which highlights hidden items and deals extra damage to foes, encouraging a quick scan of the environment. Certain stages also hand you a vehicle to commandeer, adding a brief but fun change of pace.

Two players can link their GBAs for a co‑op mode that strings together unique challenges, battling spawning enemies and bosses across progressive rooms. The link‑cable experience feels like a mini‑campaign built for teamwork.

Up to four players can jump into a capture‑the‑flag arena, each controlling their own Terminator. The mode is chaotic and strategic, rewarding quick reflexes and coordinated flag runs.
