Summary

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo (known in Japan as Super Puzzle Fighter II X) brings the arcade’s loony fighter‑slash‑puzzle action to the Game Boy Advance in a pocket‑sized package. You drop pairs of colored gems into a twelve‑by‑six pit, but only a matching Crash Gem can erase them, sparking massive chain reactions that feel oddly satisfying. When you clear gems, Counter Gems rain onto your opponent’s board, counting down from five before turning into ordinary pieces, while Power Gems form from solid blocks of the same color and boost the garbage you send.

The game’s charm comes from its cast of super‑deformed Street Fighter and Darkstalkers heroes—Ryu, Chun‑Li, Morrigan, and the rest—who flash taunts and special‑move animations each time you launch a counter. These visual gags grow bigger with larger combos, giving a playful nod to fighting‑game drama without affecting the core puzzle mechanics. The match ends when a player’s fourth column fills, making every match a frantic, colorful showdown.
