Summary

Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones rolls onto the Game Boy Advance as a mixed‑style action game, letting me swing a lightsaber as Obi‑Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker or Mace Windu. Over eleven levels the trio bounces through familiar locales—dusty Tatooine, bustling Coruscant and the arena‑filled plains of Geonosis—battling hordes of troops before landing on marquee bosses like Count Dooku and Jango Fett. Most stages play as 2‑D side‑scroll beat‑’em‑ups, but the title sprinkles in 3‑D first‑person chases, such as the speeder pursuit of Zam Wesell through Coruscant’s skyways. Developed by David A. Palmer Productions and released by THQ after its February 2002 announcement, the game earned roughly 38 % on GameRankings and a 38 /100 Metacritic, panned for clunky controls, shallow difficulty, weak level design, and an outdated password system. Still, some outlets like IGN nudged it up to a 6.5/10, suggesting the nostalgic shine of lightsaber combat can occasionally pierce the dark side of its reception.

Storyline

Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones on the Game Boy Advance follows the key moments of the film. Anakin Skywalker fights the Sand People on Tatooine, showcasing his growing skill and impulsive nature. Meanwhile, Obi‑Wan Kenobi pursues the bounty hunter Jango Fett across the galaxy, eventually confronting his mysterious son, Boba Fett. The chase leads Obi‑Wan through desert canyons and space‑bound levels, building tension toward the final showdown.

The climax pits the Jedi Order against Count Dooku and the Separatist army. Players control multiple Jedi as they battle droid forces and Dooku’s lightsaber attacks. The final encounter captures the epic scale of the movie’s battle while fitting the handheld’s action‑platform style.
