Summary
Sheep is a quirky strategy‑puzzle title that feels like a handheld Lemmings, but with a woolly twist. On the Game Boy Advance you pick one of four herders—Adam Halfpint, Bo Peep, or the dogs Motley and Shep—and coax four alien‑sheep breeds (Factorial, Longwool, NeoGenetic and Pastoral) across increasingly bizarre stages. The worlds start on a pixel‑perfect Polygon Farm and wander through a Village Fete and even a Lost‑in‑Space arena, each littered with tractors, knights, archers and demonic chefs that love to send the flock the wrong way. Collect every golden sheep trophy in a world and a bonus mode unlocks, letting you ride a sheep and rescue bubble‑trapped companions. The final showdown pits you against the mad scientist Mr. Pear and his hench‑cows. The GBA version slipped out in the EU in March 2002, while a planned North‑American launch never materialised. Critics were split, with Metacritic averaging mixed scores and Famitsu giving the Japanese port a modest 28/40.
Storyline
In the Game Boy Advance title Sheep, the fluffy protagonists aren’t ordinary farm animals at all—they’re extraterrestrials from the planet Ovis Aries. The player’s job is to shepherd these alien sheep across a series of quirky worlds, navigating platforms, traps and other hazards.
Along the way the herd must foil the plans of the eccentric mad scientist Mr. Pear, who is aided by a brigade of mischievous hench‑cows. By guiding the sheep safely to the exit in each level, players gradually dismantle his schemes and restore peace to the galaxy.
