Summary

Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder feels like a snow‑boarding cousin of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series, letting you carve down slopes with a roster of ten well‑known riders such as Shaun Palmer, Ross Powers and Shaun White. The game’s development story is a bit of a roller‑coaster: it started at UEP Systems—the studio behind the original Cool Boarders—until that company folded, after which most of the team regrouped at Dear Soft to finish the console version. Meanwhile, Vicarious Visions handled the Game Boy Advance port, giving the handheld its own spin on the action. Critics were split, with Metacritic labeling both the GBA and PlayStation 2 releases as “mixed,” though a handy demo could be unlocked in the options menu of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 on PS2. A sequel was even announced, but Activision’s financial woes led to its cancellation before it ever saw the light of day.
