Summary

Samurai Deeper Kyo on the Game Boy Advance thrusts players into the frantic world of the manga, letting you chase down the revived swordsman Demon Eyes Kyo and his rivals. The game packs rapid‑fire combat with a roster that includes Kyo, Kyoshiro Mibu, Yuya Shiina, Yukimura Sanada and Benitora. Special moves feel devastating and can be upgraded by unlocking weapons and extra modes.

It debuted in Japan on December 27 2002 under Marvelous Entertainment, then reached North America in 2008 after Destineer packaged it with the re‑released anime box set. Oddly enough, this title earned the distinction of being the final GBA game shipped in the United States before the platform was officially discontinued.

Storyline

Samurai Deeper Kyo on the Game Boy Advance follows Yuya Shiina, a bounty hunter in Edo‑period Japan, who is hunting the man who killed her brother. Her pursuit quickly entangles her with the itinerant medicine seller Kyoshiro Mibu, who is actually sharing his body with the feared swordsman Demon Eyes Kyo. Kyo’s only wish is to reclaim his own body, and he forces Yuya and a rag‑tag band of travelers into a dangerous quest. Their journey pits them against the Tokugawa shogunate and the shadowy Mibu Clan, a hidden race of super‑human warriors that have ruled Japan from the shadows for centuries.
