Summary

Rugrats Go Wild! landed on the Game Boy Advance on May 28, 2003, bringing the chaotic charm of the movie straight to a handheld screen. THQ handled the publishing while ImaginEngine took charge of development, crafting a side‑scrolling adventure that let you bounce between Tommy, Chuckie, and the rest of the crew. The game leans into the series’ signature humor, sprinkling familiar catchphrases and goofy sound bites throughout each level. Even though the graphics are modest by today’s standards, the bright sprites and lively backgrounds capture the show’s energetic spirit. For anyone who grew up watching the Rugrats tumble into mischief, this GBA title feels like a nostalgic pocket‑sized time capsule.

Storyline

In Rugrats Go Wild! the babies set off on what was supposed to be a tropical cruise, but Tommy’s dad Stu swaps the ship for a rickety boat. A rogue wave capsizes the vessel, forcing everyone onto a life raft that drifts to a seemingly deserted island in the South China Sea. While the grown‑ups argue over leadership, the kids—except Angelica—search for Nigel Thornberry, hoping his nature‑show expertise can get them home. Along the way Chuckie loses his clothes to Donnie Thornberry, Eliza Thornberry and her chimp Darwin team up with Spike the dog to locate missing babies, and Angelica hijacks the Thornberrys’ bathysphere, accidentally sinking their commvee.

Meanwhile, Stu cobbles together a coconut radio that picks up the babies’ distress signal. After a series of mishaps—including Nigel’s brief amnesia and a crash‑landing in a crater—the parents, Thornberrys, and babies are rescued. The groups reunite, Stu is forgiven, and both families board the cruise they originally wanted, with the Thornberrys joining for a vacation of their own.
