Summary

Robot Wars: Extreme Destruction on the Game Boy Advance feels like a pocket‑sized arena where every match is a chance to earn a new combatant. The game strings together a series of events—tournament duels, four‑way Mayhem melees, Bash N’ Dash survival rounds, and timed Gauntlet challenges—each offering bronze, silver or gold difficulty tiers. Bronze is the default entry point, while silver and gold unlock as you prove yourself in the lower tier, and each level pits you against a specific robot.

There are seventeen real‑world robots to chase, but only sixteen need to be beaten before they join your roster; the game never introduces any fictional creations. Victory in each event adds a new machine to your lineup, turning the experience into a collector’s quest as much as a battle.

Even without full commentary, the familiar voice of Jonathan Pearce punctuates every bout, counting down "3… 2… 1… Activate!" and ending with a decisive "Cease!" that adds a broadcast‑like flavor.

The handheld version was crafted by Warthog Games, with design led by Strangely Brown, a soundtrack by Semi Precious, and a tight crew of artists and programmers. Their focused effort gives the title a distinct feel that sets it apart from its console siblings.
