Summary

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet (GBA) is a FireRed ROM hack that squeezes the spirit of the Switch titles into the crisp, fast‑paced world of the original Game Boy Advance engine. The hack keeps the classic FireRed feel—overworld exploration, turn‑based battles, and Kanto‑style maps—while sprinkling in modern twists like new Pokémon, fresh forms, and custom areas that feel like hidden pockets of Paldea. I love how the extra locations pop up alongside familiar routes, giving a sense of discovery even after countless Kanto runs. The developers didn’t try to copy the Switch games beat‑for‑beat; instead they re‑imagined key ideas so they mesh naturally with FireRed’s mechanics, making the adventure feel both nostalgic and surprisingly fresh.
