Storyline

You awaken with amnesia, only recalling that you were once human—a fact that shocks the locals, who believe the human world is separate from theirs. After meeting your first Pokémon companion, you form a rescue team dedicated to helping Pokémon in distress as natural disasters strike the land more frequently.

Your early missions attract the attention of rival teams, including a top squad led by Alakazam and another headed by Gengar, sparking a rivalry. Rumors spread that you are the cursed human from a legend involving Ninetales, prompting townsfolk to consider killing you to restore balance. With your partner’s support, you flee the town, traversing increasingly remote dungeons while the disasters worsen, and you are joined by Absol, who seeks the true cause of the calamities.

Eventually, Alakazam’s team corners you, but Ninetales intervenes, revealing you are not the legendary human and warning that the awakened Groudon threatens the world. After Alakazam’s team disappears on a failed attempt to stop Groudon, your group volunteers, defeats Groudon, and rescues the missing trainers. Xatu then warns that a meteor— the real source of the disasters—is hurtling toward the planet, and only Rayquaza can destroy it.

A Teleport Gem sends you to the sky, where you battle Rayquaza, who agrees to shatter the meteor. The world is saved, but the price is your return to human form. After the credits, you desperately wish to stay, only to reappear in Pokémon form at the rescue base, shocking everyone once more.
