Summary

Onimusha Tactics transforms the dark fantasy world into a tight, turn‑based strategy sandbox where each battlefield is a chess‑like clash between two sides. You field a squad of up to ten warriors, each outfitted with weapons and armor that can be tweaked on the fly. The game foregoes any shop system, but the Oni Gauntlet lets you harvest the souls of fallen enemies and use them to upgrade existing gear. New gear isn’t bought—it’s forged by merging Genma Stones, but every fusion requires you to first uncover a specific recipe hidden throughout the stages. The blend of limited squad size, deep equipment customization, and the hunt for fusion blueprints creates a rewarding loop that keeps every turn feeling consequential.

Storyline

Onimusha Tactics follows young warrior Onimaru, who is handed the powerful Oni Gauntlet just as demon hordes led by Nobunaga Oda threaten his village. An elderly sage named Sandayu reveals that Onimaru hails from the hidden Oni clan and was secreted away in the peaceful Iga province. The gauntlet lets him absorb enemies' souls and forge weapons and armor from the demon Genma stones he gathers. Armed with this new knowledge, Onimaru quickly forms a squad that includes his sister Ororo. Together they set out to avenge their home and halt Nobunaga’s demonic war across the land.
