Summary

Ms. Pac-Man Maze Madness drops you into a vibrant 3‑D maze where the classic yellow dots are just the start. Moving blocks, exploding boxes and locked doors force you to think ahead, while the Pac‑Dot Radar points out any missing pellets. Spring tiles let you hop over walls, switches open hidden passages, and keys and hearts keep you moving and healthy. Power Pellets still turn the tables, letting Ms. Pac‑Man gobble every foe for a short burst.

Collecting fruit, pretzels and enough yellow dots opens new sections and earns Gold Stars, which unlock bonus rounds and even a tiny movie player for animated cut‑scenes. After you clear an area you can revisit it in Time Trial, Gold Star or Gold Clock challenges, each rewarding extra points and lives. The two bosses – a green Gobblin and the witch Mesmerelda – must be defeated twice; the second victory hands you the Witch’s Key, a shortcut back to earlier levels.

Up to four players can battle the maze together, either all human or mixed with AI opponents, which adds a chaotic twist to the solo experience. Unlike the console version, the GBA build drops the original arcade Ms. Pac‑Man playable from the main menu, focusing solely on the new adventure. Critics gave it mixed reviews; Retro Gamer praised the bright graphics, catchy sound and solid platforming, but noted that depth perception can be tricky and the difficulty may feel too forgiving for younger gamers.

Storyline

In Ms. Pac-Man Maze Madness (often just called Maze Madness), Professor Pac discovers that the Enchanted Castle has fallen under black‑magic control and the princess has vanished. A witch named Mesmerelda is plotting to steal the four Gems of Virtue—Generosity, Truth, Wisdom, and Courage—to dominate the four wonders of Pac‑Land, each guarded by mysterious force fields. To stop her, the professor builds a device called the Pactrometer and hands it to Ms. Pac‑Man, but the witch drags him into a mirror, leaving only his holographic messages to guide her.

Armed with the Pactrometer, Ms. Pac‑Man chomps through mystical worlds, rescuing Professor Pac and freeing the lost areas of Pac‑Land. She collects the gems, battles Mesmerelda, and after the witch is defeated she regains the gems, breaks the spell, and the witch reverts to her true form as the princess. The trio celebrates their victory, restoring peace to Pac‑Land.
