Mission: Impossible – Operation Surma (often just called Operation Surma) lands you in the shadowy gap between the second and third films, letting you slip into the series’ classic espionage vibe on a handheld. Paradigm Entertainment built the game’s stealth‑action core while Atari handled the publishing, and the title made its way onto the Game Boy Advance alongside the Xbox, PS2 and GameCube. Instead of Tom Cruise, the voice of Ethan Hunt is supplied by veteran actor Steve Blum, with Ving Rhames and John Polson returning to voice Luther Stickell and Billy Baird respectively. Storyline

Mission: Impossible – Operation Surma opens with IMF operative Ethan Hunt scuba‑diving a Black Sea shipwreck. A brief attachment to his goggles delivers his next briefing: escort former Yugarian advisor Mikail Marcou and retrieve a mini‑disk containing vital data on dictator Simon Algo. Ethan’s team includes Luther Stickell, Billy Baird, former FBI agent Jasmine Curry, and master‑of‑disguise George Spelvin.

At the Yugarian Ministry of Information, Marcou is killed by Secret Service chief Vasyl Berkut, and Ethan seizes the disk before Berkut escapes. The trail leads to Los Muertos Laboratories, where Ethan and Spelvin infiltrate as a guard and a scientist. Inside, they discover a plot to weaponize three strains of neurodioxin; Ethan hacks the core, disarms bombs, and kills contractor Jong Ho Li while Sofia Ivanescu sabotages a helicopter and flees.

Back in Yugaria, Ethan learns about ICEWORM, a universal computer virus, and hears that Sofia’s father Nicholas Ivanescu is still alive. He protects Sofia from Berkut’s men, and the group heads to the offshore Sansara prison to destroy the remaining neurodioxin. Curry and Spelvin enter the "Rat Trap" with Berkut, while Ethan impersonates Berkut, disables the toxin, and witnesses Algo murder Spelvin, wound Curry, and capture Sofia.

Ethan skydives onto Algo’s airborne headquarters, where Algo kills Berkut with an experimental rocket launcher. After planting explosives on the plane’s wings, Ethan rescues Sofia from a fatal fall, and the duo lands on the SURMA Building. On the roof, Algo activates an invisibility device, but Ethan disrupts it and eliminates the terrorist.

The story closes weeks later on a private cruise off Aruba. Sofia declares she is done with technology, shares a kiss with Ethan, and the two embark on a new scuba‑diving adventure together.
