Summary
Lufia: The Ruins of Lore throws Eldin, Torma, and Rami into a treasure‑seeking expedition that quickly spirals into a battle against the power‑hungry Ragule, who’s plotting to awaken an ancient beast from the silent ruins. The trio’s hunt becomes a race to solve the mystery before humanity pays the price.
The game sticks to the series’ signature turn‑based combat, but enemies appear on the field, so fights only start when the party walks right into them. Defeating foes grants experience, and, like its predecessor, you can capture Disc Monsters instead of slaying them. Once a character’s Installation Points gauge fills, the captured monster can fuse for three powerful turns, adding a strategic layer to each encounter.
Even as a side story, the title retains the classic dungeon‑crawling feel that keeps long‑time fans glued to the screen.
Storyline
Lufia: The Ruins of Lore unfolds two decades after the defeat of the Sinistrals by Maxim, a period that had brought the world a brief era of peace. That calm shatters when the militaristic Kingdom of Gratze teams up with the enigmatic Ragule, declaring war on neighboring lands and hunting a legendary monster known only as “The Beast,” hoping its power will secure total domination.
The story follows a wandering youth named Eldin, who crosses paths with a determined priestess, Rubius. She is on a quest for mystic shards and stones that will grant her entry to a fabled holy realm. Their journey leads them to Ragule’s fortress, where they discover that stopping the despot is the only chance to restore peace to the world.
