Summary

Lufia: The Ruins of Lore drops you into a new adventure with Eldin, Torma, and Rami, a trio of aspiring hunters chasing rumors of treasure. Their quest quickly spirals into a race against the power‑hungry leader Ragule, who seeks to awaken an ancient beast that could threaten all of humanity.

The game keeps the classic Lufia feel but swaps random encounters for on‑screen enemies that trigger combat only when you walk into them. Defeating foes earns experience, and a handful of monsters—called Disc Monsters—can be captured instead of killed. When a character’s Installation Points gauge fills, you can fuse a captured monster with Eldin, Torma, or Rami for a three‑turn power boost.

Storyline

*Lufia: The Ruins of Lore* is set twenty years after the events of *Lufia II*. The world, which had known a period of peace after Maxim’s defeat of the Sinistrals, is plunged back into conflict when the militaristic Kingdom of Gratze allies with a mysterious figure named Ragule and declares war on its neighbors. Their campaign is driven by a single obsession: to locate a powerful monster known only as “The Beast,” which they hope to harness for total domination.

The story follows a young adventurer named Eldin, who roams the war‑torn lands seeking excitement and purpose. During his travels he encounters Rubius, a youthful priestess on a quest to gather mystic shards and stones that will grant her entry to a legendary holy land. One of those sacred sites lies within Ragule’s heavily fortified stronghold.

When Eldin and Rubius finally breach the fortress, they confront Ragule himself and realize that stopping his ambitions is the only chance for lasting peace. Their journey becomes a race against time to thwart the Kingdom of Gratze’s plans and prevent the Beast from falling into the wrong hands.
