Summary

Lego Bionicle: Quest for the Toa (often just called Lego Bionicle) drops you into an isometric world where you guide Takua, a curious villager on the island of Mata Nui. The game feels like a classic action‑adventure platformer, letting you jump, throw objects, push stones and equip a handful of tools that you can map to any button. Each of the six elemental regions hosts a cluster of linear levels—about twenty in total—punctuated by a village where NPCs hand out hints and extra moves. After you clear a region, a quirky minigame unlocks, playable solo or with a friend via the GBA link cable. Health and ammo are harvested from scattered fruit and berries, which double as projectiles, keeping the pacing brisk and the puzzles fresh.

Storyline

LEGO Bionicle: Quest for the Toa (often just called Quest for the Toa) takes place on the island of Mata Nui before the arrival of the Toa Mata. The island is split into six elemental regions—Ga‑Wahi, Le‑Wahi, Ko‑Wahi, Onu‑Wahi, Po‑Wahi and Ta‑Wahi—each with a village (koro) led by an elder Turaga, and the central temple Kini‑Nui watches over them all. Dark power from the evil Makuta hangs over the land, and the villagers await the prophesied six warriors who will restore peace.

The story follows the young villager Takua as he races from village to village rescuing kidnapped Turaga and reclaiming the stolen Toa Stones. He first saves Turaga Whenua in Onu‑Koro, then frees Turaga Nokama (Ga‑Koro), Onewa (Po‑Koro), Matau (Le‑Koro) and Nuju (Ko‑Koro), retrieving each stone and the Turaga’s missing tools along the way. In Ta‑Koro, Turaga Vakama doubts Takua’s chances, sends him to find an antidote for poisoned water, and is then captured himself; Takua rescues Vakama, secures the hidden stone in a volcano, and escapes on a lava surfboard.

Back at Kini‑Nui, the grateful Turaga urge Takua to place the stones in the temple. When he does, the stones fire a beam into the sky, summoning the Toa and blasting Takua onto a Ta‑Wahi beach, where he spots an open Toa canister and fresh footprints heading toward Ta‑Koro.
