Summary
Jurassic Park III: Park Builder drops you into the role of a fledgling dinosaur entrepreneur, picking up where The DNA Factor left off and paving the way for the later Island Attack. After dispatching an excavation crew to one of eight global sites to harvest fossilized mosquito DNA, you’re tasked with turning that raw material into a thriving theme park on a remote island.
The park‑building toolbox lets you sprinkle hotels, restaurants, shops and rides across six distinct biomes – from lush jungles to sun‑baked deserts – while natural disasters like hurricanes and earthquakes keep you on your toes. Advertising campaigns draw in visitors, who hop aboard up to three tour buses (more can be bought) to catch a glimpse of the prehistoric residents. You’re limited to eight holding pens, so layout efficiency becomes a puzzle as you balance cost, aesthetics and safety.
With a roster of roughly 140 creatures – think towering Brachiosaurus, ferocious Spinosaurus and soaring Pteranodon – the game forces you to match each species to its ideal habitat and monitor health, even treating illnesses when they arise. Dinosaurs are sorted into six categories, three carnivorous and three herbivorous, which influences pen placement and visitor excitement.
Critics gave the title mixed marks, hovering around the mid‑60s on aggregate sites. Reviewers praised its depth but lamented the sparse sound design, repetitive menu hopping and the absence of a tutorial, leaving newcomers to fumble through a surprisingly complex management system.
