Summary

Hikaru no Go 2, the sequel to the beloved Go‑themed series, landed on the Game Boy Advance in Japan back in 2002. Though it never saw an official Western release, the title carries the unmistakable stamp of Konami, and its development was handled by KCEJ, a studio known for polishing niche titles. What makes this handheld entry stand out is its blend of traditional board‑game strategy with the quirky, collectible‑card‑style mechanics that were popular on the GBA at the time. Even without an English manual, the game’s UI is surprisingly intuitive, letting players dive straight into matches against AI opponents that gradually ramp up in difficulty. For anyone who’s ever been curious about how Go could be translated to a portable console, this hidden gem is worth tracking down.
