Summary

High Heat Major League Baseball 2003 is the penultimate entry in the High Heat series, and it even spawned a separate handheld version for the Game Boy Advance. Both the console and portable releases carry the full, officially licensed roster of all 30 MLB clubs, which was a big draw for fans who wanted authentic line‑ups on the go. The 3DO Company developed the title, but the studio’s financial woes caught up with it and the company filed for bankruptcy just a few months after the game hit shelves. Critics were split: the PlayStation 2 version earned “favorable” marks, while the PC and GBA editions settled into “mixed or average” territory on Metacritic. In Japan, Takara handled the GBA launch on July 18 2002 and the PS2 launch on September 5, with Famitsu rating the handheld version a modest 23 out of 40.
