Summary

Happy Feet on the Game Boy Advance transforms the movie’s penguin party into a bright 2D platformer. You guide Mumble through side‑scrolling stages, and most of them turn into rhythm challenges that let you tap along to songs from the film’s soundtrack. The game even brings back several voice actors from the movie, so the dialogue feels surprisingly authentic for a handheld title.

Between the dance‑offs, the adventure sprinkles in quirky minigames—sledding down icy slopes or diving for fish—to keep the pace lively. Critics were split: GameSpot gave it a modest 6.1/10 while IGN was harsher at 4.0/10, but the GBA version generally fared better than its console siblings, earning a mixed‑to‑positive reputation among handheld fans.

Storyline

Happy Feet on Game Boy Advance follows Mumble, a young penguin born into a colony of Empire Penguins renowned for their singing. Every penguin must find a Heartsong to win a soulmate, but Mumble is the worst singer in the world. His only talent is tap dancing, and he can do it exceptionally well. Despite his lack of vocal skill, he refuses to give up hope. He believes that somewhere in the frozen Arctic a song will warm someone's heart.
