Summary

Gakkou no Kaidan: Hyakuyoubako no Fuuin is a Japan-only adventure title published by TDK Core in 2004. The game leans heavily into mystery‑solving, giving players a slice of classic handheld adventure design. Its interface mixes point-and-click menus with simple button commands, typical of early‑2000s portable puzzlers. Even though it never left Japan, collectors appreciate the quirky artwork and the way it captures school‑yard folklore. I often keep it on my shelf as a reminder of the hidden gems that slipped under the radar during the GBA era.

Storyline

Gakkou no Kaidan: Hyakuyoubako no Fuuin puts you in a haunted school where the main goal is to exorcise the many ghosts that linger in the old building. The Story Mode mirrors the formula of earlier Gakkou no Kaidan titles, having you wander hallways and confront spirits as they appear. Each encounter triggers a battle in which you must defeat the ghost to clear the area.

Beyond the core narrative, the game also offers a Minigame Mode that provides extra challenges separate from the ghost‑hunting trek. While exploring, you’ll run into various monsters and specters that require quick reflexes and strategy to vanquish.
